The History of JRS

The first JRS was in Toronto, in 2007. It was organized in order to unify the rough set community. JRS is the leading international symposium on the foundations and applications of rough sets. The symposium encapsulates two conferences. Firstly, Rough Sets, Fuzzy Sets, Data Mining and Granular Computing (RSFDGrC)- a continuation of international conferences spanning the past 15 years. Secondly, Rough Sets and Knowledge Technology (RSKT) - a new initiative launched in 2006. Both of the conferences investigate rough sets as an emerging methodology which, established more than 30 years ago, has recently received increasing attention as relevant in varied hybrid approaches.
