Networking with fellow researchers is an important part of any conference experience, and JRS 2013 is no exeception. We are working with Destination Halifax that will provide a stimulating environment for exchange of ideas Canada's Ocean Playland has to offer. We are tentatively planning the following networking events, subject to budgetary approval.
Reception: At one of the oldest breweries in Canada, in a massive ironstone and granite building (c 1820). Animators in period costume and character bring 1863 Halifax to life in song and story as they lead guests through Alexander Keith's beautifully detailed brewhouse and taproom.
Banquette: The Annapolis Valley. Located along Nova Scotia's Bay of Fundy, the Annapolis Valley spans from Digby to Windsor and boasts some of the best soils and climatic conditions in eastern Canada. The region is recognized as the 3rd most important fruit growing area in Canada, and is noted for its high tides, orchards and vineyards.
