Mathematics 2056
Discrete Mathematics II
Fall 1996/97
(Tuesday and Thursday: 4:00 - 5:15 pm)

Instructor: Dr. Pawan J. Lingras

Please refer to the course outline for MATH 2056. The assignments are worth 20% of the course. It must be submitted in stages as indicated on the course outline. Assignment questions that are not submitted by the beginning of the class indicated will automatically receive a zero, unless there are EXTREME circumstances that warrant an extension granted by the instructor. This procedure will permit all exercises to be marked and returned to students prior to the writing of the test on the corresponding material.

Assignment questions should be submitted in the best format possible, that is, neat in ink, single-sided, on "assignment" paper, etc. Questions should be numbered 1,2,3, as well as referenced with Section, Page and Number. Failure to do the above will result in lost marks. They must be done by yourself but you may obtain help from the instructor or other students. Copying solutions is disallowed. See the information on academic dishonesty in the calendar.

All questions are from the Rosen text. Additionally, students should solve the following number of minimal problems, to ensure minimal learning, as listed on the right hand side. Detailed solutions to the odd numbered questions are in the "Guide".
