Grades for A01 and A02 have been released. Please use the Grade Server link to the left to get your feedback.

The due date for A04 is being put off until Saturday night.

I am HOPING that I will have feedback for you on earlier assignments by then!

I have posted a message about M2. It includes a sample second midterm and answers.

There was an error in the A07 description where it said that the Game class had to be revised to sort the hands. It should be the Deck class that sorts the hands -- in particular, the deal method!

Sorry!

The correct answers for M1 should now be visible on Brightspace. Apparently the default view is not the view that students get by default. Nor does Brightspace give anyone an option as to which of multiple views they'd like to see, or be seen. *sigh*

I have added some new descriptions in the A05 assignment. Nothing that changes what the code should be (or how the testing program works). It just explains more about what the testing program is looking for.

Feedback now available on Brightspace. Sorry for the delay.

Remember that the grade on Brightspace is out of 46, but your official grade is out of 44, so the percentage is a bit higher than Brightspace says.

The grades for M1 have been posted on the course website. The feedback on Brightspace should be posted some time this weekend.

I have decided to drop 2 points from the test total shown on Brightspace -- so the test is graded out of 44 instead of 46.

The class average is 64%. The range is from 16% to 103% (yes, I did give some bonus points).

I have revised the testing code for A04 so that the flags come out looking closer to what they should. They are in a file called yourFlags.html in your A04 passin folder (use the View submissions command).

You can also see all the flags that were submitted here. Some very nice flags there!

I have released the grades for A04 -- AND for A03. Sorry about the A03 grades -- they were ready last week, but I forgot to touch the file that says they are released. (And when A03 was mentioned in lab this morning I figured you meant A04.)

Do please email to ask about assignment grades if they aren't released by Thursday of the week after they were collected.

I have uploaded a corrected set of solutions to the Sample-M1 test. (One of the new methods was missing in Question #9.)

Minor revision/clarification on A05. If you haven't started it yet, you don't need to worry about it. If you have started, this fixes the mis-match between what the description said and what the testing code reported regarding Trucks with different owners.

There is a new item in the Notes showing the way to do calculations for A03.

My apologies. I missed my office hours this afternoon. Please email questions to me. If necessary we can set up a new meeting on Brightspace.

My office hours on Tuesday (the 12th) will be later than scheduled. I will start at 2PM instead of 1PM. ...mark young

Welcome to the CSCI 1228 web site for Winter 2021. There will be lecture on Thursday of the first week. There will also be labs on Wednesday and Thursday.

Use the navigation bar to the left to find course information, reference material, assignments and grades.

This page (the first you will see when you come to the web site) contains announcements regarding class and assignments that come up between classes. You should check this page if you notice a mistake in the assignment or are having particular trouble with an assignment. You should check occasionally anyway, and look in on it before you submit your assignments.

If you notice a mistake in an assignment (whether the description is inconsistent, or a link is broken, or the sample program does not do what the description says it must) you should e-mail Mark Young right away. The first person to point out one of these "needs to be fixed" problems will receive up to a 5 percent bonus on that assignment.

Changes to assignments will be posted here, but will also appear on the assignment page in red text.
