I teach across the computer graphics, vision, and systems curriculum at Saint Mary’s University — from first-year programming to graduate courses in deep learning for vision. My aim is to pair rigorous foundations with hands-on building, so students leave able to implement the ideas, not just describe them.
Currently teaching
Computer Graphics
An introduction to computer graphics with a focus on rendering and modelling: 2D/3D transformations, ray tracing and rasterization, the OpenGL pipeline and shader programming, geometric modelling with Bézier curves, splines and NURBS, polygonal meshes, and procedural synthesis — built in C++ and OpenGL/GLSL.

Teaching approach
My courses are built around a simple conviction: students understand a concept best once they have implemented it. Lectures develop the mathematical and algorithmic foundations, and the accompanying recitations and projects ask students to build the real thing — a ray tracer, a rasterizer, a scheduler, a small deep-learning pipeline — in C++, OpenGL, or Python.
I keep an open door for students who want to go further. Course projects have grown into honours theses and, in several cases, into published research and industry roles. Undergraduates curious about graphics, vision, or geometric learning are always welcome to talk about research opportunities in the lab.
